The strange food policies of some councils
Hart DC for example are keen on prosecutions. So keen they took a client of ours to court. Although a small farm shop selling mostly raw meat (which has no HACCP critical points) they did not like his paperwork.
This despite the fact that the legislation is clear about the amount of paperwork being commensurate with the size and nature of the business.
They liked the paperwork of a local (ex Hart) consultant better and told our guy he would be better off using their guy and even arranged for him to visit. My guy did not like their guy (but he liked me) and call it coincidental if you will but a while later our guy was prosecuted for amongst other things poor record keeping.
To cut a long story short our excellent solicitor had 8 counts knocked down to 2.
